Last Wednesday, 13th December, we kicked off our 3rd Solidarity Week with a talk on "The myths and truths of melanoma", given by Dr. Eduardo Nagore, clinical head of the Dermatology Service of the Valencian Institute of Oncology (IVO) and member of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV).
A talk shared with the award-winning and prestigious chef Martín Berasategui, who is to his credit the chef with the most Michelin stars in Spain, specifically, his restaurants have 12 Michelin stars.
Together, in a very informative, pedagogical and fun way, they offered the more than 300 people attending the event a very direct message: "we must protect our skin from the sun's impact".
Let's remember that the 3rd Solidarity Week of this business is entitled
"Committed to your sun protection" and has the firm objective of raising awareness about skin care, to prevent pathologies such as melanoma. A campaign that has the support of the
Fundación Piel Sana, with which we collaborate as a Silver Member.
Dr. Nagore involved all attendees with a game of Kahhot, through which we could interact with his speech and discover "Myths and truths about melanoma" in a clear and fun way.
For his part, chef Martín Berasategui revealed his "Recetas para no quemarte", a series of spots, and through an amusing analogy with cooking, he helps us to promote this campaign’s message.
As usual, Berasategui showed his closeness, friendliness and good hum
our, both in the talk and afterwards with the attendees, with whom he shared anecdotes, smiles and photographs.
Sustainability
An opportunity to present and give attendees our bags made from Awning tarpaulin scraps.
As we believe in the Circular Economy, we have reused the tarpaulins from disposable awnings, so that they can have a second life. A unique, hand-stitched bag, made with ultra-resistant fabrics and that responds to our environmental commitment.
A gift that was given to the attendees, at the exit of the event, so that they are the ones who help us to give a new life to these Awning tarpaulins and achieve a more sustainable society.
We would like to thank the public for their great response to this first event of our 3rd Solidarity Week, held in Hall 1 of our facilities in the El Castillo Industrial Estate in Sax.
We will soon continue with more actions, such as the travelling exhibition and the exhibition of advice and recommendations for the care and protection of our skin.
