Interview with Pablo López, Director of Orenes Gran Casino, Castellón

To find out more about this project, we spoke to Pablo López, the Director of Orenes Gran Casino, Castellón.

Question. - Good morning Pablo and thank you very much for letting us into your casino, could you tell us a bit more about what we can see here?

Answer. - It’s my pleasure. You are in the Orenes Gran Casino, Castellón, originally built as a port market in the 19th century, which has been refurbished to provide a comprehensive leisure alternative for adults in the area.

Q.- We see that you have had pergolas built to cover the roof area, why did you choose to use Saxun Bioclimatic Pergolas?

A.- At Grupo Orenes, we are prominent for the great care we take with every detail of our installations and for providing them with a personality which is unique and with which our  customers can identify. Therefore, we needed a roof structure that was elegant and sophisticated, but which also met our practical needs. Our project planner suggested Saxun’s solution and we couldn’t be happier.

Q.- What were those needs exactly?

A.- In Castellón, we have more than 300 days of sunshine a year and our most basic need was to create a comfortable space where our customers could play, have a drink and chat with friends. We considered several options for this purpose and, per the installer’s advice, we decided on this hybrid system with optimal ventilation.

Q.- What future prospects do you think this space has?

A.- We think that the future of this casino, as with that of the others, lies in integrating a wider range of leisure activities. More and more, customers are looking for a comprehensive experience that combines activities such as enjoying dinner with friends, watching a football match and celebrating important occasions.

I believe that the sector’s future lies in being able to meet these needs.

Q.- Is it important that the system is automated?

A- Of course. Our staff have to be ever ready to carry out a multitude of tasks. The automated system helps ensure that the space’s comfortable conditions do become yet another issue that our team has to worry about. The key for us was its ease of use.
