More than a hundred people gathered at the Hotel Meliá in Alicante to attend the "Recipes for healthy skin” conference, part of our "Committed to your Sun Protection System” campaign.

Chef Martín Berasategui and medical nutritionist María Martínez discover foods for healthy skin
Convinced that healthy eating has a direct influence on our skin’s protection, on 24 October we organised a talk by our friend and ambassador, Martin Barasategui, the 12 Michelin-starred chef, and Maria Martinez Villaescusa, doctor and expert in Nutrition, Microbiotics and Hormonal Health.

Both showed us the goodness of various foods and the best way to cook and combine them in our daily menu to take care of our skin.
This activity is part of our Committed to your Sun Protection System campaign for the dissemination of skin care, under the Sun’s rays, hand in hand with Fundación Piel Sana, as a Silver member of the same.

A Foundation promoted by the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV), made up of more than 3,000 dermatologists who participate in its projects to raise awareness and promote health.

Its aim is to highlight the importance of protecting our skin from the sun in different areas of society, so that this message permeates from the youngest right through to the elderly.

By virtue of this "Commitment", last Thursday, 24 October, we brought chef Martín Berasategui and the medical expert in Nutrition, María Martínez, together for a talk in which they showed us the benefits of food and the best way to cook it.

Martín Berasategui unveiled his Abecedario del Paladar (Alphabet of the Palate), and revealed to the audience the many combinations of basic and rich foods in our Mediterranean diet, such as tomatoes, almonds, sardines and cauliflower.

The talk was attended by more than a hundred people interested in nutrition and skin care. Among them was Lidia López, Councillor for Consumer Affairs and Catering of Alicante City Council.

From Saxun, we will give those attending a bag made with leftover awning fabric. A merchandising product with a clear sustainable message, since instead of these scraps from our daily production being "thrown away", they are reused and given a "second life" in favour of the Circular Economy and the generation of Zero Waste.

Commitment
In response to the Committed to your Sun Protection campaign, we have already developed several actions, such as a conference given by Eduardo Nagore, doctor in Dermatology and expert in Melanoma, and a talk to school children by Natalia Pastor, doctor in Dermatology, last December at our facilities in Sax.

We also participated and collaborated in the I Fundación Piel Sana (Healthy Skin Foundation Workshop Day in El Retiro Park in Madrid, supporting the message of taking care of the skin when exposed to the Sun.
