Saxun and the Roca Awards to the best Hotel Initiative

This event (Roca Awards) celebrates hotels and professionals who have obtained the highest quality scores in areas such as architecture, gastronomy, services and promotion of tourism.

The Roca Awards to the Best Hotel Initiative were first organised by Gran Hotel Turismo magazine in 1993; they are held every two years and this year is the eleventh edition.

The categories of the Roca Awards to the Best Hotel Initiative are:

HOTEL ARCHITECTURE
Newly built hotel or refurbished building for hotel use.

RENOVATION
Building works evaluating the renovation and decoration of a hotel with the aim of improving its services and atmosphere.

SEASIDE HOLIDAY HOTEL
Hotel aimed mainly at offering its guests an enjoyable seaside holiday.

MOUNTAIN HOLIDAY HOTEL
Hotel aimed mainly at offering its guests an enjoyable holiday in the mountains.

HOTEL CUISINE
Evaluating both the quality and the creativity of the cuisine, as well as the dining room service.

CONFERENCE AND CONVENTION HOTEL
Evaluating the quality of the facilities for holding conferences, conventions and incentive outings, as well as the audiovisual and technical services, the catering options, communication, etc.

WELLNESS HOTEL
Establishment that can offer the widest range of thermal, thalassotherapy, spa, relaxation and beauty treatments, among others, as well as a healthy cuisine.

URBAN HOTEL
Well-located establishment within a city that favours the use of the hotel both for business purposes and leisure city breaks.

SUSTAINABLE HOTEL
Hotel that includes the most sustainable and innovative solutions regarding water and energy saving.

A series of special prices will also be awarded for:

AWARDS TO TOURIST DESTINATIONS
Innovation in the hotel industry of Portugal.
Innovation in the hotel industry of Dubai.

GRAND JURY PRIZE SPECIAL AWARD

HONOUR AWARD IN RECOGNITION FOR THE HOTEL AND TOURIST PERSONALITY

The award ceremony will take place during an event to be held on 21 June at 20:30 h. in Roca Barcelona Gallery. All those nominated for prizes as well as outstanding personalities of the world of tourism and representatives of the hotel industry will be invited to the event.
